We are seeking a skilled Optical Design & Simulation Engineer with expertise in ANSYS SPEOS to support the design, simulation, analysis, and optimization of automotive optical systems. The role focuses on the design and validation of automotive lighting solutions, particularly projection systems and headlamps, ensuring compliance with performance requirements and automotive lighting regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Design and perform optical simulations using ANSYS SPEOS for automotive lighting applications.
Develop and optimize optical systems including projection modules, headlamps, light guides, reflectors, lenses, diffusers, and light decoupling structures.
Conduct stray light analysis, photometric analysis, and optical performance evaluation to achieve the desired illumination characteristics.
Optimize lighting performance by refining optical components and system architecture.
Validate optical designs against customer specifications and applicable automotive lighting regulations and standards.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams to integrate optical systems into vehicle platforms.
Analyze simulation results and recommend design improvements to enhance optical efficiency, performance, and manufacturability.
Support prototype development, optical testing, and validation activities.
Prepare technical reports and documentation detailing simulation methodologies, design decisions, and validation results.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Hands-on experience in optical design and simulation using ANSYS SPEOS.
Strong understanding of optical principles, including light propagation, reflection, refraction, scattering, and photometric analysis.
Experience in designing automotive lighting systems such as projection lamps, headlamps, or interior lighting.
Knowledge of automotive lighting regulations and industry standards.
Familiarity with material properties affecting optical performance.
Proficiency in optical simulation tools such as Zemax, TracePro, or COMSOL is an added advantage.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience in automotive exterior lighting, particularly projection systems and headlamps.
Experience with interior lighting components for passenger vehicles.
Exposure to LiDAR, AR/VR optics, or advanced automotive optical systems is an advantage.
Experience in validating optical simulation models using prototype or experimental data.
Knowledge of optical measurement techniques, photometric testing, and optical instrumentation.
