About the role
* Deliver speech pathology clinical services (which may include treatment, examination, investigation, diagnosis and case management) within the Speech Pathology Department and multidisciplinary teams in the Townsville University Hospital in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.
* As experience builds, apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision making under the clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician.
* Provide input in the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within the Speech Pathology Department and in multidisciplinary teams.
* Work cooperatively and effectively within the Speech Pathology Department, other multidisciplinary teams and with patients / clients including liaising with outside agencies and relevant persons.
Role requirements
* The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Speech Therapy/Pathology providing eligibility for practicing membership to Speech Pathology Australia.
* Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a 'working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
