Job Summary
The Specialist, Privacy Compliance serves as a key contributor to the development, implementation, and ongoing maturity of the organization’s Information Governance Framework. This role is responsible for supporting and executing privacy, data protection, and information governance initiatives to ensure compliance with applicable statutory, regulatory, and internal requirements.
The Specialist partners closely with Information Management (IM), Legal, IT, Security, and business stakeholders to operationalize privacy and governance policies, monitor compliance, and drive continuous improvement. Acting as a trusted advisor and subject matter resource, this role ensures that employees understand their responsibilities related to privacy and information handling.
As a champion for privacy and compliance, the Specialist promotes a culture of accountability, security, and transparency across the organization through training, collaboration, and positive influence.


Location/Travel Information
This position is based at the Houston Headquarters with frequent travel to other Freeport LNG sites, as well as off-site locations as required. This position requires the incumbent to hold a valid, unexpired driver license at all times in order to perform the essential functions of the job.

Duties/Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain the organization’s Information Governance Framework, including privacy, records management, and data governance components supporting regulated LNG operations, including engineering, operations, maintenance, and capital projects
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, corporate, and financial requirements related to information governance, records management, and data privacy
Support and assist the Records Manager with policy implementation, compliance monitoring, data quality assurance, training, and documentation management
Develop, review, and help enforce information governance, data governance, and privacy-related policies, standards, and procedures
Monitor and enforce data retention and disposition requirements, ensuring alignment with legal and organizational obligations
Oversee and support adherence to Records Management Codes of Practice, industry guidance, and best practices
Conduct risk assessments and evaluations to identify potential information security, privacy, and compliance risks
Collaborate with Legal, IT, Cybersecurity, Quality, and business stakeholders to implement and support information management systems and controls
Serve as a subject matter resource to business units by advising on secure handling of sensitive operational, engineering, and commercial information
Partner with Quality and business teams to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and integrity across systems and datasets
Create, maintain, and manage documentation related to information governance processes, standards, controls, and best practices
Support audits, assessments, and remediation activities related to information governance, privacy, and records management
Deliver training and awareness programs, including onboarding of new employees, to promote effective recordkeeping and compliance practices
Conduct ongoing research to stay current on data management, privacy laws, regulations, and industry trends, recommending updates as needed
Assist in resolving data- and information-related issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed information governance and privacy controls into business processes

Minimum Qualification/Work Experience
Education
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Information Systems, related field of study from an accredited university or college, or equivalent work experience required.
Experience
Minimum of four years in Information Governance or compliance-related field required.
Experience with data security and privacy regulations, compliance frameworks, and risk management practices

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of current and emerging IM practices
Demonstrated ability to manage projects and workflow to ensure accuracy and quality
Strong ability to maintain confidential information
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize work assignments

HSE Roles and Responsibilities
Support the policies, efforts, and programs of Freeport LNG Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Actively participate in the HSE Management System Policies. Ensure that HSE concerns are given priority in all activities completed within their area of responsibility. Implement routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.

Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/fax, filing cabinets, etc.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the incumbent must be able to stand and/or sit continuously to perform all essential job functions for a full shift.
Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as required in order to lift files, boxes and office equipment as necessary.
Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending, standing on a stool, or climbing as necessary to perform these functions.
While performing the duties of this role, the incumbent may be required to talk or hear.
The incumbent is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Ability to drive to other Company work locations as required.
Ability to move throughout all areas of each office/site location and facilities.
