About Company:
Little Pods is an organization focused on providing a variety of services for children with special needs in a distinctive way. Keeping in mind the individual differences in each child, our trained professionals aim to thoroughly understand the child and help him/her inculcate skills for independent functioning.
Our interventions and strategies are formulated based on the needs of the child while keeping in mind the needs of the school and parents or caregivers. The interventions are introduced in a manner that the child is comfortable with. We focus on improving the child's strengths while modifying his/her weaknesses. We follow a goal-directed approach to help the child gain various skills and teach him/her methods to cope with various difficulties. We also believe in training the individuals prominently involved in the child's life (parents, teachers, caregivers, etc) to ensure the child's needs are taken care of in a productive and effective manner.
About the Internship:
As a special needs teacher, you will have to accompany the special child to an international inclusive school, you will be sitting right next to the child in the classroom and will be working on his academic, social, and behavioral skills. You will also help the child develop independence.
Key responsibilities:
1. Remain sensitive to students' feelings while offering assistance with social skills
2. Assist students with academic tasks while encouraging them to work independently
3. Assess children's skills and learning requirements
4. Design individualized educational plans (IEPs)
5. Monitor children's behavioral patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if needed
6. Develop behavior management strategies
7. Encourage a student to communicate with peers
8. Review a student's developmental progress
+. Monitor interactions between students
1. Those who are from or open to relocate to Mumbai and neighboring cities
2. Extensive knowledge of early childhood development
3. Ability to remain calm while dealing with various classroom issues
4. Excellent ability to engage children with appropriate activities
5. Comprehensive understanding of early childhood behaviors
6. Strong interpersonal abilities
7. Impressive organizational skills
8. Any graduate or should have done an ECCE course
