Job Description
A full-time Special Education Teacher is needed for an Extended School Year (CSY) program serving students ages 3–22 with active Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This role focuses on supporting students with emotional disabilities, specific learning disabilities, and related needs through specialized instruction and behavioral interventions.
Key responsibilities include delivering direct, individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals, providing intensive academic and behavioral support, and collaborating closely with related service providers and support personnel. The role requires careful monitoring of student progress and thorough documentation to ensure effective programming. Creating a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment is essential to student success.
Ideal candidates will hold an active Special Education teaching certification (LBS1) and demonstrate experience working with students who have emotional and learning disabilities. Strong skills in classroom management and behavior intervention techniques are critical, as is the ability to offer high-level, individualized support tailored to each student’s unique needs.
This position is located in Naperville, IL, and operates on a contract basis during the extended school year.
Qualifications:
• Active Special Education teaching certification (LBS1)
• Experience with emotional disabilities and specific learning disabilities
• Proven ability to deliver individualized academic and behavioral support
• Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills
