Job Description
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Demonstrated experience producing federal project documentation, including release notes, user guides, work aids, training materials, and customer-facing communications
Experience collaborating directly with federal stakeholders to develop end-user documentation
Proficiency with Confluence for documentation management is must
Working knowledge of Jira to track documentation tasks and software releases
Excellent written, editing, proofreading, and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to translate technical concepts into clear, concise documentation for business and end users
In order to meet the clearance requirements for this opportunity, candidates must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
Ability to pass a US Public Trust background investigation for access to the client site and computing systems
You must have lived in the US for the past three (3) years

Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality end-user documentation, release communications, and training materials while working closely with business stakeholders and project teams to ensure documentation is accurate, clear, and user-friendly
This is a remote, full-time, W2 role
Develop, edit, and maintain end-user documentation, work aids, user guides, release notes, FAQs, and training materials for enterprise applications
Prepare internal and external communications related to software releases, system enhancements, maintenance activities, and user notifications
Collaborate directly with NHTSA business stakeholders to gather information and create user-facing documentation and job aids
Create and maintain documentation in Confluence and organize project knowledge repositories
Work with project managers, business analysts, developers, testers, and product owners to understand application changes and translate them into user-friendly documentation
Maintain documentation standards and ensure all deliverables are accurate, consistent, and aligned with federal documentation guidelines
Update existing documentation to reflect system enhancements and production releases
Support user adoption by creating instructional materials and documentation for new features and functionality

Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality end-user documentation, release communications, and training materials while working closely with business stakeholders and project teams to ensure documentation is accurate, clear, and user-friendly. This is a remote, full-time, W2 role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, edit, and maintain end-user documentation, work aids, user guides, release notes, FAQs, and training materials for enterprise applications.
• Prepare internal and external communications related to software releases, system enhancements, maintenance activities, and user notifications.
• Collaborate directly with NHTSA business stakeholders to gather information and create user-facing documentation and job aids.
• Create and maintain documentation in Confluence and organize project knowledge repositories.

Requirements

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
• Experience supporting Agile software development teams.

• Familiarity with software release management and production deployment processes.
• 3+ years of technical writing experience supporting U.S. Federal Government programs, including: Federal technical documentation, Release notes, User guides, Work aids, End-user communications, Technical editing, Documentation management, and Stakeholder collaboration
