YOUR ROLE
As a Solution Design Engineer within CEVA Logistics’ Contract Logistics team at Truganina VIC, you’ll play a key role in shaping scalable warehouse solutions that support both new business pursuits and enhancements to existing operations. Whether you come from a warehouse operations, continuous improvement, or solutions background, this is your opportunity to drive efficiency and innovation across our national network.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Specifically, you will:
Design Leadership – Create tailored warehouse solutions using appropriate storage systems, material handling equipment and automation, aligning with customer requirements and operational feasibility
Operational Analysis – Leverage your experience in logistics operations or continuous improvement to identify opportunities for optimisation and translate them into robust solution designs
Solution Development – Deliver detailed solutions for medium to high complexity opportunities, covering layout planning, labour modelling, equipment recommendations, and infrastructure design
Commercial & Costing Support – Assess the financial and operational impact of proposed solutions, developing investment cases and cost-benefit analyses that inform bid strategies
Bid Participation – Prepare technical inputs for RFIs, RFPs and RFQs, including pricing matrices and proposal documents, and respond to customer queries during the bid process
Presentation & Stakeholder Engagement – Present solutions to internal stakeholders and customers, articulating design rationale and commercial alignment with confidence and clarity
Mentoring & Development – Coach Solution Design Analysts on solution development best practices, including automation options, warehouse planning, and cost modelling
Continuous Improvement – Contribute to the ongoing development of CEVA’s Contract Logistics solution design methodology, tools and templates.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We’re seeking someone who combines hands-on logistics experience with a structured, analytical approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will bring:
A tertiary qualification in industrial engineering, logistics and supply chain management, or a related field
Experience in a warehouse solution design role, or a background in warehousing operations or continuous improvement within a logistics setting
Strong analytical and modelling skills, ideally with proficiency in Excel and the ability to use design/simulation tools (or a willingness to learn)
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly
Bonus: Familiarity with warehouse automation design and implementation.
In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.
