Solicitor- Family (Private) Team
Location: Buckingham House Office, Preston
Hours: Full-time, 36.25 hours per week
The Role
Forbes Solicitors are seeking a Solicitor to join our Private Family team. This exciting opportunity allows you to work in a supportive environment while handling a varied case load of Private Family matters.
Key Responsibilities
Dealing with a mix of Private Law Family matters (Divorces, Finances, Private Children and Domestic Abuse).
Handling a broad range of family court hearings alongside providing written and verbal legal advice, and managing communications with clients, opponents, courts/tribunals and third parties to progress cases.
Supporting the wider team by assisting colleagues on cases, contributing to departmental objectives, and collaborating across departments on joint matters and projects.
Ensuring compliance with internal and external business requirements.
Contributing to continuous improvement and the development of the departmental business plan.
Building positive client and stakeholder relationships, enhancing the Firm’s profile, and supporting business development.
About You
We are looking for people that can demonstrate the following:
Essential:
Be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive, with Family Practice Rights and Advocacy certifications (or equivalent), with 2-4 years PQE.
Previous experience of working withing a private family team.
Previous experience working with a range of matters, including Divorces, Finances, Private Children, Domestic Abuse and court proceedings.
Has a good working knowledge of Legal Aid.
Demonstrates excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Aligns with the Firm’s values.
Desirable
Previous experience in own advocacy.
Previous experience with Business Development activities, with the ability to network with potential clients and introduce them to the Firm.
