Job Description
An SDE-2 is responsible for independently delivering end-to-end features across frontend and backend layers. The role requires strong execution discipline, module-level ownership, and active participation in technical discussions across the stack.
Key Responsibilities
• Independently deliver end-to-end features within sprint timelines.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and corresponding frontend integrations.
• Build responsive, maintainable UI components and scalable backend services.
• Write clean, modular, and testable code across frontend and backend with high unit test coverage.
• Ensure delivered code meets defined defect and quality standards.
• Own specific modules or services across the stack, including documentation and maintainability.
• Review merge requests with structured, actionable feedback.
• Participate actively in architectural and design discussions.
• Identify and resolve technical debt within owned components.
• Debug and resolve production issues across UI, API, and data layers within agreed timelines.
• Mentor junior engineers through regular technical guidance sessions.
• Communicate technical designs, implementation details, and challenges clearly within the team and to cross-functional stakeholders.
Technical Requirements
• 3–6 years of software development experience with exposure to both frontend and backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Java and experience with SpringBoot.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS with hands-on experience in React.js.
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and integrating them with frontend applications.
• Working experience with RDBMS (Oracle/PostgreSQL), and familiarity with Kafka and NoSQL databases (e.g., AeroSpike).
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and component-based frontend architecture.
• Experience with Git-based workflows and structured code reviews.
• Strong debugging skills across UI, API, and database layers.
• Ability to write and maintain good unit test coverage for code contributions.
