Qualifications
While preference will be given to candidates with Salesforce development experience, we are also open to considering experienced developers from other backgrounds or fresh graduates with a Computer Science or similar degree
The ideal candidate will have or be willing to develop strong skills in Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Components
They should demonstrate the capability to quickly learn and adapt, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions under guidance
We’re looking for individuals who are adept at solving complex problems, have a strong technical background, and solid interpersonal skills
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description
Responsibilities
The Salesforce Developer will be integral to the development and customization of our Salesforce platform, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of our university
Collaborating closely with our Salesforce team, the role involves designing, coding, testing, and implementing Salesforce solutions
Contribute to the overall strategy and vision of the Salesforce team, participating in planning and development of future enhancements
Design, develop, and implement Salesforce solutions using Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Components
Collaborate with Salesforce Admins to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
Use Salesforce developer tools and technologies to create customized solutions that enhance and optimize Salesforce concepts such as objects, workflows, validation rules, and triggers
As part of the central IT Salesforce team, provide support and develop Salesforce solutions for strategic, cross-campus needs, collaborating with other Salesforce teams across the university
Develop and maintain APIs for integrating Salesforce with other university systems and external applications, working with admins to facilitate smooth and effective integrations
Develop automations to assist the admin team in performing data migration tasks between systems, ensuring data integrity and consistency
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to the Salesforce platform, working closely with admins to ensure seamless operations
Work with the admin team to develop solutions to enhance the performance of the Salesforce platform
Support the admin team in implementing and enforcing security best practices within the Salesforce platform, ensuring the development and maintenance of secure code and assisting with custom development solutions as needed
Participate in and conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and maintain high-quality code, collaborating with the admin team for comprehensive solutions
Participate in quality assurance processes, including testing and validation of developed solutions
Maintain detailed and organized documentation of system configurations, development processes, and user interactions, contributing to the creation of a robust team knowledge base
