About Us
Port Colborne has hockey in its bones - it’s the hometown of NHL Hall of Famer Ted Kennedy, and that legacy runs deep in this community. The Port Colborne Sailors, a club in the Greater Ontario Hockey League (GOHL), are under new management and building something special: a program that honors this town’s history while creating new memories for the next generation of fans and players.
We’re looking for a creative, driven storyteller to help capture that journey - someone who can bring the energy of game night, the grit of the locker room, and the pride of this community to life across social media. With our established network of affiliations and partnerships, this role is a real stepping stone for anyone looking to build a career in sports media.
Responsibilities
Capture and edit photos and video content at games, practices, and team events
Create and schedule engaging posts across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and X
Cover live game-day content (highlights, scores, in-the-moment updates)
Help tell the story of the club’s new era - connecting Port Colborne’s hockey history with its future
Collaborate with team management on announcements, promotions, and player features
Grow our online following and deepen engagement with the community
Maintain a consistent, professional brand voice across all platforms
Qualifications
Experience with social media content creation (photo/video editing skills a strong asset)
Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, Brook, and Canva or similar editing tools
Passion for hockey or sports storytelling is a plus
Availability to work evenings and weekends around home games and events
Strong communication and time-management skills
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Port Colborne, ON L3K 5W3
