Job Description
Responsibilities / Job Duties: Velocity Rail Solutions drivers are responsible for loading, transporting, and transferring red-dyed diesel into trains on an "on-call" basis for the Railroad. The Railroad maintains dedicated trucks and drivers on duty 24/7/365, including nights, weekends, and holidays, ensuring consistent paychecks. You will be paid for a full 12 hours each shift, including breaks, lunches, and any wait time for dispatches. You will be compensated for all "on-duty" hours.
What Does a Relief Driver Do? Relief Drivers will cover vacations and open shifts in Carson, Commerce, and San Pedro (Terminal Island). Should be willing to work a variety of shifts including overnights, weekends, and holidays. Shifts may rotate.A relief driver at Velocity Rail Solutions is responsible for covering shifts when local drivers are on vacation or when there are open shifts that need to be filled. This role requires flexibility and adaptability, as relief drivers must be willing to work various shifts, including overnights, weekends, and holidays. Relief drivers ensure that operations continue smoothly without interruption, providing essential support to the team and maintaining consistent service for our clients. Should be willing to work a variety of shifts including overnights, weekends, and holidays. Shifts may rotate.
Highlights:
Compensation: $322/Day (12-hour shifts)
Schedule: Various shifts, including overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts (rotating may occur). SoCal Relief Drivers will cover in Carson, Commerce, and San Pedro (Terminal Island).
Requirements: Must have a Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, and a TWIC card.
Pay Frequency: Paid weekly
Experience: 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience required.

Requirements/Qualifications:
Must have a Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
Must have a TWIC card
1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience
Must be willing to work a variety of shifts including overnights, weekends, and holidays (shifts may rotate)
Must be able to clear all background checks required by the company, customer, and government
Responsible for maintaining all required licenses and certifications
Must be able to read, write, and understand English
Must be reliable and dependable
Must know when to ask for help
Moderate computer skills required
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements:
Able to consistently bend, stoop, kneel, and climb on and off elevated surfaces
May have to walk long distances on paved, unmaintained, or uneven surfaces
Able to climb in and out of a truck cab multiple times per shift and climb a ladder or steps 10 or more times per day
