We’re hiring a Slot Attendant and Cashier to work with us at the Chances Prince Rupert casino in Prince Rupert, BC.
Reporting to the Gaming Manager, the Slot Attendant and Cashier is the primary point of contact for guests. You'll be providing attentive, prompt, and courteous responses to customer inquiries and requests for assistance or information. Additionally, you'll handle problems and complaints efficiently and make referrals to supervisory staff for resolution as required.
You will help create memorable guest experiences by providing friendly, knowledgeable service, explaining games, celebrating winnings, and processing jackpot payouts. This role is an entry-level position with opportunity to grow within our organization and the starting wage is $18.25/hour.
This position is primarily responsible for the overall level of service in an assigned area and on the gaming floor in general. However, you will also be responsible for slot machine maintenance tasks, cash handling, and light cleaning duties.
Because Chances Prince Rupert is a casino, all employees must be 19 years of age or older. You must also be able to complete a criminal record check through the Independent Gambling Control Office (IGCO).
This is a full-time position, so the successful candidate will need to be available to work 40 hours per week, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
There are some physical aspects to the job, including lifting boxes and pushing and pulling carts as well as long periods of standing and walking. The casino environment is also loud, with dim lighting and bright, flashing lights.
The Slot Attendant and Cashier must have Appropriate Response Training Level 1 and Anti-Money Laundering training. We also need people with strong communication skills who work well in fast-paced environments, under pressure, and independently with good judgement. This position may require you to handle confidential information, so we’re looking for applicants who can do so with discretion and care.
