Position Summary: Alcon Construction is looking for a dependable and skilled
carpenter/craftsman to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with carpentry
experience who enjoys a variety of work and takes pride in helping projects move forward
safely, efficiently, and with quality workmanship. The ideal candidate is a hard-working,
versatile team player who can assist with all phases of commercial construction, follow direction
from the project superintendent, and adapt to changing project needs. We are looking for

Objectives and Competencies: The Carpenter/Craftsman is responsible for performing a wide
range of construction tasks to support successful project completion, often working
independently.
Experience with commercial construction, carpentry, and general labor activities
Read and interpret basic construction drawings, specifications, and layouts
Load, unload, organize, and transport materials and equipment
Operate hand tools, layout tools, power tools, and equipment safely and effectively
Perform demolition, site preparation, cleanup, material handling, and other labor-
intensive tasks
Assist with rough and finish carpentry, framing, blocking, installation of doors, hardware,
and miscellaneous specialties
Assist multiple trades and crews as directed by the superintendent
Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality standards and in accordance with
plans and company policies
Complete daily documentation, pictures, timecards, and equipment usage as required
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
Keep a safe, clean, and organized jobsite work area
Identify and communicate jobsite issues, safety concerns, or material needs
Follow all safety policies and participate in safety meetings and training
Assist with other duties or special projects as needed
Projects may include commercial buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, renovations, and more.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in being a reliable "jack of all
trades" on the jobsite. Candidates should have their own basic hand tools of the trade.
Education and Experience: Qualified candidates should have at least:
2 years of commercial construction, carpentry, or related construction experience
Experience using common construction hand, layout, and power tools
Knowledge of basic construction methods, materials, and safety practices
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable transportation to and from job sites
Carpentry experience is strongly preferred. Please show all relevant construction, carpentry, and
skilled labor experience in your work history on your resume or application.
Physical Requirements: A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record is required. This
position also requires the ability to climb, kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, squat, and exert heavy
physical effort. You must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and work at various heights. The work
environment is on construction sites, indoors and out, and may require work in confined spaces.
Travel outside of the San Luis Valley is occasionally required.
