About us: Excels Furniture Repairs has been in business over 45 years providing excellent high quality services to contractors and customers. We are in the process of hiring a dedicated individual who would be interested in joining our team in our new location with modern high tech equipment and high pace environment. Education
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship in wood furniture refinishing and repairs. experience is an asset
Qualifications
Minimum 2 yrs. experience as furniture repairing, sanding and staining procedures
Familiarity with different types wood, stains and their applications
Knowledge
Working knowledge in furniture repairing, stripping, sanding, scuffing, reassembling and staining techniques
Knowledge of quality control methods and processes
Knowledge of the Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Experience
Experience in applying stains
Experience in repairing furniture techniques
Duties/Skills
Maintaining a clean safe work area
Storing tools properly
Inspecting furniture for imperfections for quality control
Performing other duties as requested by the supervisor
Informing management of stock inventory requirements daily
Time management and multi-tasking skills
Abilities:
Ability to operate required equipment in a safe manner
Ability to focus on the task at hand
Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
Ability to work in various environmental conditions
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Requirements
Have good communication skills (Bilingual/Unilingual language)
Have excellent attention to details
Must be able to distinguish colors
Have exceptional hand-eye coordination for quality control
Pay strong attention to detail to identify correct surface defects and achieve top quality preparation of cabinetry components
Stand, walk, reach, stoop, bend and crouch as needed
Understanding and following safety standards and environmental regulations
Work day shift Mon-Friday 8:00am -4:00pm
Work overtime as required
A positive attitude and willingness to learn about new products and services
Valid Canadian Work Permit
Valid G Driver's License (Optional)
