POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Shop Assistant will be responsible for administrative tasks required by the production and shipping department. The primary function of this role will be organizing and arranging various documents and logs required by the two departments as well as ensuring production releases are delivered to the various operators in the production facility. Order picking of non rebar items may also be a function of this role. Other duties may include being a backup to the Production & Logistics Coordinator and/or the Receiving & Materials Coordinator during absences.
POSITION FUNCTIONS
Splitting and organizing production releases for fabrication
Separating various BOLs, copying and distributing as required.
Maintaining courier logs
Adding data and maintaining various logs required for Production (IE- ribbon colour log)
Organizing and maintaining all production documents in the production office
Assist in documenting and tagging of incoming loads
Adding data and maintaining the prefab yard check in log
Assist as needed in creating loads in the system
Assist as needed in booking couriers
Ensure all rush orders are received and distributed to the production operators as quickly as possible.
Assist both the Production & Logistics Coordinator and/or the Receiving & Materials Coordinator with other various administrative tasks.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned or necessary

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 1 years of administrative experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
Highly motivated and able to work independently
Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
Able to work well under pressure
Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, and other common applications
Rebar fabricating experience is an asset.
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
