An exciting opportunity has arisen as Senior Ship Designer/Naval Architect in our world class Ship Design Solutions team. Kongsberg Ship Design has a proud history of 50 years delivering designs for a wide portfolio of vessels and is celebrating vessel # 1000 this year. As Naval Architect the job tasks will be related to development of our portfolio of vessels within the NVC-Design range of Merchant vessels. The role will require close cooperation with our customers and sales force and cover R&D tasks, development of tender documentation and follow-up work during construction phase. We are looking for candidates with passion for the Marine Transportation fleet of vessels and specifically for one or several of the following vessel types; Tankers, General Cargo, Bulk carriers, Ro-Pax and passenger vessels.
You will be part of multidisciplinary project teams and good communication and co-operation skills is important.
This employment may require security clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority. For more information visit www.nsm.no
Key Accountabilities
• Develop our vessels portfolio within Merchant segment
• Develop General Arrangement, vessel specifications and supporting documentation
• Coordinate supporting teams
• Be a driving force in the decarbonization of our vessel range
• Sales support and customer activities
• Communication with building yards, Flag, Authorities and classification societies
Qualifications And Experience
• Master or Bachelor Degree.
• Relevant experience from Yard, classification companies or consultancy (>5 years).
• Other relevant experience or competence relevant for delivering on the key accountabilities will be considered.
You are able to
• act on own initiative, make things happen and accept responsibility for the results
• comply to company rules and procedures and execute plans with commitment and determination
• use a methodical and systematic approach, plan ahead, define clear priorities and allocate resources effectively
• analyse complex issues and problems and come up with rational judgments
• produce fresh and imaginative Ship Design, ideas and solutions
• co-operate well with others, share knowledge, experience, information and support others in the pursuit of team goals
