Basic Job Functions:
The mechanic's role is to safely maintain mechanical components throughout the plant. This includes trouble shooting and repairing all equipment, cooperating with and supporting operations and other duties as assigned including maintaining compliance in all areas of the site. Nucor teammates are expected to participate in and promote an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork within our Quality Control System. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Understanding of basic hydraulic and mechanical principles
Basic welding ability
3 to 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial setting
Ability to interpret hydraulic schematics and machine drawings
Proficient in computer applications
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficient at SMAW in all positions
• Basic welding ability
