Job Title: Senior Engineer / Engineer Server Assembly
Location: Dwarka Sector 15, Delhi
Experience Required: Minimum 3+ years
Job Summary:
Viewpixel Pvt. Ltd. is hiring an experienced Server Assembly & Test Engineer for our data center operations in Dwarka. The role involves assembling rackmount servers, installing components, performing cabling, running system tests, and ensuring production-quality output as per Indian regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble rackmount servers by installing motherboards, CPUs, heatsinks (using torque tools), memory, drives, power supplies, and fans.
Connect and route cabling, power harnesses, and backplanes properly.
Power on systems, perform BIOS/BMC checks, and verify indicators and storage mapping.
Execute functional and stress testing on assembled servers to ensure performance and quality compliance.
Conduct BIOS/firmware setup and configuration during server preparation and validation.
Troubleshoot hardware-level issues, identify faulty components, and coordinate replacements or repairs.
Maintain proper ESD safety protocols and ensure assembly area cleanliness and organization.
Collaborate with the Quality Control team to verify that all units meet performance and reliability standards.
Manage inventory of components, ensuring traceability and documentation accuracy.
Ensure all work complies with Indian electrical and equipment handling standards.
Maintain assembly logs, checklists, and process documentation as per internal SOPs.
Diagnose and resolve hardware issues during assembly or testing.
Support field return (RMA) units for diagnostics, reassembly, and testing when required.
Requirements:
Experience: 4–6 years of hands-on experience in server or workstation assembly and testing.
Qualification: Diploma / ITI / B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Hardware (or equivalent).
Skilled in CPU/heatsink installation with torque tools and thermal paste application. Familiar with Indian data center and electrical handling practices.
Ability to follow detailed build procedures and maintain accurate documentation. Immediate joiners or candidates with a short notice period preferred.
Strong understanding of server architecture (motherboards, processors, memory, RAID controllers, storage, network interfaces, and power systems).
Proficiency in hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting tools (multimeter, POST diagnostics, etc.).
Experience with rack installation, cable management, and airflow optimization.
Familiar with BIOS/firmware configuration, burn-in testing, and component validation procedures.
Knowledge of ESD handling and safety best practices.
Excellent attention to detail, process orientation, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams.Preferred (Good to Have)
Experience in server integration or OEM manufacturing setups.
Familiarity with HP, Dell, Lenovo, or Supermicro server platforms.
Exposure to automated test benches and performance validation tools.
Basic understanding of Linux/Windows installation for hardware verification.
Relevant certifications (CompTIA Server+, Hardware Maintenance, etc.) are an added advantage.
