Job Title: Senior Textile Designer Women's Ethnic Wear (Digital Print)
Location: Surat
Department: Design
Reporting To: Design Head / Management
Job Summary The Senior Textile Designer will be responsible for creating innovative and market-relevant digital print designs for womens ethnic wear. The role requires strong creativity, trend awareness, and hands-on experience in designing for fabrics like viscose, Bemberg, and other natural materials.
Key Responsibilities
• Create original and commercially viable digital print designs for ethnic wear (co-ord sets, suits, kurtis, dress materials).
• Develop print concepts, color palettes, and repeat patterns as per market trends.
• Work on placement prints, all-over prints, and engineered designs.
• Ensure designs are optimized for digital printing on viscose, Bemberg, and natural fabrics.
• Conduct trend research based on seasons, customer preferences, and competitor analysis.
• Coordinate with production and sampling teams for design execution and approvals.
• Prepare files for digital printing with proper color management and repeats.
• Maintain a design library and update collections regularly.
• Guide and mentor junior designers if required.
Required Skills
• Strong expertise in digital textile designing for ethnic wear.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and other design software.
• Knowledge of color separation, repeats, and print techniques.
• Understanding of fabric behavior (viscose, Bemberg, natural fabrics).
• Strong sense of color, composition, and market trends.
• Ability to handle multiple collections and deadlines.
Qualification
• Degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or related field.
Experience
• Minimum 12-18 years of experience in textile designing, preferably in womens ethnic wear and digital printing.
