Job Description
Role Overview:
You will be part of a high-impact engineering unit directly reporting to the CTO. Your primary responsibility will involve diagnosing and resolving complex customer issues, performance bottlenecks, architectural weaknesses, and production-critical incidents across various products and technology layers. This is a deep systems problem-solving role that requires strong debugging capability and architectural clarity in frontend, backend, data, and infrastructure layers. Please note that this is not a feature development role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct root cause analysis of high-severity customer issues
- Perform production performance debugging across services and data stores
- Engage in cross-stack troubleshooting involving UI, API, Messaging, Database, and Infrastructure layers
- Participate in architecture reviews and system hardening
- Implement observability, monitoring, and resilience improvements
- Evaluate trade-offs between short-term fixes and structural redesign
Qualifications Required:
- Hands-on exposure to technologies such as Angular, React, Node.js, Python, Erlang, MongoDB, Redis, ScyllaDB, Kafka, AWS (Lambda, SNS, SQS, SES, EC2, CloudWatch, etc.), microservices architecture, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures
- Ability to debug across layers and understand the impact of frontend rendering on API load
- Experience in diagnosing production issues in distributed systems
- Strong understanding of data consistency, caching strategies, and performance trade-offs
- Proficiency in log analysis and observability
- Capability to quickly comprehend unfamiliar codebases

You should have a proven track record of solving critical production incidents and exposure to distributed and event-driven architectures. The ideal candidate will possess strong systems thinking, clear technical judgment, comfort in working in ambiguous situations, a high ownership mindset, effective communication skills to convey technical findings to engineering and leadership, and flexibility to work during odd hours and weekends.
