Senior Postgre SQL Database Administrator

Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education. • Minimum 7 years of IT Experience as the Senior Database Administrator, expertise in various Database Technology like PostgreSQL, MySQL, ORACLE etc., • 3+ year of Hands-on experience as a Senior PostgreSQL DBA with the preferred exposure in AWS Cloud database administration Preferred Qualifications: Essential Skills: • Hands on experience in PostgreSQL installation/Setup and Configuration in Linux platform • Sound understanding with the Core PostgreSQL Architecture • Expertise on Maintenance in PostgreSQL- Vacuum a Database and remove data fragmentation., Updating Planner statistics, Analyze and routine Re-indexing. • Expertise in User Access Management and Database Security • Very Strong Experience in Performance Tuning • Query optimization – Calculate Query Cost and Explain plan. • Leveraging features in the latest PostgreSQL release • PostgreSQL Patching and Upgrade • Experience in DB Backup, Restore, Disaster Recovery & Replication • Table partitioning and DB schema maintenance- psql CLI/Commands • Familiar with PostgreSQL admin tools and utilities • Good Communication, Interpersonal, and Client Interfacing skills with the ability to manage work pressure and timelines effectively. • Perform on-going support on database issues and ticket management. • Perform other specific Database administration duties as defined in Working Practices • At least 3 years of experience in Project life cycle activities on support and maintenance projects. • Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment with basic understanding of ITIL framework - Incident & Problem Management • Provide after-hours and on-call support to critical databases. • The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. • Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Preferred skills · Experience in AWS Cloud Database Administration-RDS (Aurora-PostgreSQL, Aurora-MySQL) and AWS services S3, Athena, EMR, Lambda, Kinesis, Glue, Lake Formation, DynamoDB, CloudWatch etc., · Redshift Database Administration · Azure Cloud Database Preferred Qualifications · Certified PostgreSQL DBA · AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner · AWS Certified Database Specialty · ITIL Foundation Certification
