The Role
Joining the Early Learning Programs and Youth Division at the Department of Education is an opportunity to work in a dynamic priority area of Government, ensuring quality early childhood education and care (ECEC), and leading national policy reform alongside State and Territory Governments.
As a Senior Policy or Program Officer (APS6), you will be part of a forward-thinking team doing meaningful and interesting policy development and program delivery work.
Duties and Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
Preparing briefing papers, policy or program advice, standard operating procedures, project reports, ministerial correspondence and discussion papers for presentation to a range of audiences.
Liaising with other sections, external agencies and external stakeholders and facilitating cross-agency or multi-agency planning of program delivery.
Performing research and analysis tasks (including data) to inform complex policy and regulatory development, including identifying issues and potential solutions.
Undertaking activities to support effective and compliant grant development, delivery, reporting and management.
Building and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders including State and Territory Governments.
Undertaking governance activities, including contract management, project management and reporting.
Supervising and supporting junior staff members to perform diverse tasks.

Eligibility
