Senior Optometrist

An Optometrist is a skilled eye care professional responsible for providing comprehensive vision care services, including eye examinations, diagnosis of visual problems, and management of certain eye conditions. The role involves conducting detailed eye tests to assess vision clarity, detect refractive errors, and prescribe corrective lenses such as spectacles or contact lenses. Optometrists also identify early signs of eye diseases like glaucoma, cataract, and macular degeneration, and refer patients to ophthalmologists when necessary.

In an eye hospital setting, the optometrist supports pre-operative and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries. They assist in diagnostic procedures, maintain accurate patient records, and ensure proper use of ophthalmic equipment. Educating patients about eye health, hygiene, and preventive care is a key part of the role.

The optometrist works closely with doctors, nurses, and outreach teams to deliver quality eye care services, especially during screening camps and community programs. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and patient-centered care are essential for this position. The ultimate goal is to improve visual outcomes and enhance the quality of life for patients through effective and ethical eye care services.
