We are seeking a early years senior practitioner.

Responsible to: Deputy Manager
Main purpose of the role: To follow the current policies, procedures and legislations from the EYFS and that the nursery philosophy is abided by. Ensuring the children are always safe and well looked after. To be a good role model to the children and staff. Mentoring and motivating the team, creating a happy working environment and adhering to nursery ethos.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Essential Criteria
o An early year’s qualification Level 3 with Level 3 Management, early years qualification Level 4, 5 or Foundation Degree.
o Level 2 English and maths qualifications (for example, Functional Skills or GCSEs)
o A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in an early years setting.
o Current safeguarding training
o To hold a current First Aid Certificate
Desirable Criteria
o Leadership training and qualifications
o Experience of leading and supporting team member
o Training in supporting children with Special Educational Needs
KNOWLEDGE
Essential Criteria
o Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS Framework
o An extensive knowledge of planning for children’s individual needs and next steps using the EYFS framework
o A full knowledge of child development and the key person role
o A full Knowledge of all Health and Safety policies and procedures
o A full knowledge of safeguarding procedures
Desirable Criteria
o Knowledge of the inspection process of regulatory bodies
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Essential Criteria
o Ability to lead and motivate a team
o Excellent communicate skills both verbal and written
o Respect all cultures of colleagues, children and families
o Ability to work individually and as part of a team
o Self motivated and a positive attitude
o The ability to be self reflective on nursery practise to raise quality standards
o Ability to use own initiative
o Kind and caring nature
Desirable Criteria
o IT skills
o The ability to prioritise your workload
OTHER
Essential Criteria
o A willingness to learn undertake further relevant training
o A DBS check
Desirable Criteria
o Full, clean UK driving license
