15+ years of hands-on network engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a colocation or data center environment
Proven experience with firewall platforms and VPN technologies
Solid understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, and network segmentation best practices
Experience troubleshooting complex network issues under pressure with strong packet-capture and analysis skills
Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment with limited process overhead

Responsibilities
This is a senior individual contributor role with direct impact: you'll own the design, deployment, and day-to-day operation of the network infrastructure powering a fintech data platform used by thousands of customers
You will be on a small, high-trust team where your work is highly visible, offering real ownership and autonomy to shape how the network evolves as the company scales, plus direct exposure to the fintech and market data space
Tech Breakdown
LAN/WAN infrastructure within a colocation facility, including switches, routers, firewalls, and out-of-band management
BGP peering and routing for low-latency market data delivery
Network security controls, including ACLs, firewall policies, and VPNs
REST API and WebSocket infrastructure supported by the network layer
Monitor network health, capacity, and performance; respond to incidents and drive post-mortems to resolution
Partner with software engineering to support REST API and WebSocket infrastructure with the low-latency network it requires
Evaluate and onboard colocation services, cross-connects, and carrier circuits
Document network topology, runbooks, and change management procedures
Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to P1 incidents affecting data delivery
Drive capacity planning and lead hardware refresh cycles for network equipment

Their platform handles billions of database requests daily, tackling some of the most complex tick-level options data challenges in the industry. They are looking for a hands-on, senior Network Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis.

Required Skills & Experience
• 15+ years of hands-on network engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a colocation or data center environment
• Proven experience with firewall platforms and VPN technologies
• Solid understanding of IP addressing, subnetting, and network segmentation best practices
• Experience troubleshooting complex network issues under pressure with strong packet-capture and analysis skills
• Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment with limited process overhead
Desired Skills & Experience
• Experience in fintech, market data, or latency-sensitive trading environments
• Familiarity with colocation providers and cross-connect workflows
• Knowledge of network automation tooling (Ansible, Terraform, NAPALM, or similar)
• Relevant certifications: CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent
• Experience supporting WebSocket or streaming API infrastructure at scale
