Senior Network Engineer (Halifax Regional Municipality)
Job Description
At IMP Solutions, we provide IT products, and IT and business consulting services to our clients across Atlantic Canada. We are searching for a Senior Network Engineer to join our Advanced Solutions team. This position will have dual responsibilities of network architecture work and network delivery.
What You Will Do
Responsible for design and delivery of networking solutions to our clients.
Perform technical services, including strategy and advisory, infrastructure design and planning, technical investigation, installation, configuration, migrations and upgrades in complex, multi‑vendor environments.
Collaborate with clients and sales team to determine the most appropriate technology solutions for customer needs.
Act as technical lead with customers for all network infrastructure architecture (switching, wireless, firewall).
Act as technical authority with customers for network infrastructure tasks to ensure architecture principles are understood and translated into low level design and bill of materials.
Work very closely with our strategic network vendors (Cisco, HPE Aruba, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.) to talk and present accurately to a customer on the various network and security options available.
Formal training on our strategic vendors and attendance at training seminars and/or events.
What You Need to Succeed
Post‑secondary degree or diploma in a related field (combination of education and practical experience considered).
10+ years of progressive technical experience in the implementation and support of relevant vendor (Cisco, Fortinet, Checkpoint, HPE Aruba, etc.) products and solutions.
Technical certifications from Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE), Fortinet (NSE3, NSE4), HPE Aruba, etc.
Participate in training 2 weeks on the latest product sets and solutions from our strategic vendor partners (Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, HPE Aruba, Palo Alto, etc.).
Extensive background in delivering Network, Security, and Wireless solutions to a range of clients from Enterprise to mid‑size business.
Network and Wireless experience is a must.
Strong working knowledge of relevant top vendor products.
Ability to take ownership of complex IT problems.
Ability to work in a challenging setting where remediation timing is critical to client’s business.
