Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Media and Communications Professional to join our Advocacy team. As the voice of WALGA, you will be responsible for generating press outcomes that make a real impact.
You will work closely with our Marketing, Events, and Comms team to develop compelling narratives and sellable stories that showcase the great work of our members.
Key responsibilities include liaising with the media, State and Federal Government, Media Officers, and Local Government Communication experts to achieve our goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience in internal and external communications, with a strong track record of delivering results.
Talented writer with excellent media connections and a thorough knowledge of legislation and professional ethics relating to media and communications.
Able to pick up the phone and know who to call to solve a comms problem.
Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Natural ability to build relationships with people from all backgrounds and at all professional levels.
