Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager – Data Science, Optimization & Decision Intelligence to lead enterprise-scale analytics and optimization engagements. This role combines consulting, supply chain strategy, operations research, data science, and client leadership.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end delivery of strategic projects, engaging CXO-level stakeholders, translating business challenges into analytical solutions, and ensuring successful implementation and adoption of recommendations.
This position is ideal for a consulting-oriented leader who can confidently bridge the gap between business teams and technical teams while delivering measurable business impact.
Key ResponsibilitiesDelivery Leadership & Project Management
Lead and manage 1–2 concurrent analytics, optimization, or decision intelligence engagements.
Own project planning, governance, delivery timelines, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.
Drive project execution across discovery, data assessment, modelling, optimization, scenario analysis, dashboard development, and final handover.
Manage project risks, dependencies, assumptions, and change requests.
Ensure delivery quality, business relevance, and client satisfaction.
Business Consulting & Problem Structuring
Engage business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, operational challenges, and decision-making requirements.
Convert complex and ambiguous business problems into structured analytical frameworks and solution roadmaps.
Define success criteria, business KPIs, constraints, and implementation considerations.
Evaluate trade-offs between cost, service levels, inventory, capacity, and operational feasibility.
Develop executive-ready recommendations backed by data and analysis.
Supply Chain Analytics & Optimization
Lead solution design and review across:
Supply chain network optimization
Warehouse and distribution center location strategy
Demand allocation and market servicing models
Logistics and transportation optimization
Cost-to-serve analytics
Inventory optimization
S&OP and planning analytics
Manufacturing and distribution planning
Geospatial and catchment analysis
Scenario planning and simulation
Analytics, Data Science & Operations Research Leadership
Guide teams in developing analytical and optimization models using Python, SQL, and modern analytics platforms.
Review optimization models involving:
Linear Programming (LP)
Mixed Integer Programming (MILP)
Transportation Models
Allocation Models
Network Flow Optimization
Validate objective functions, constraints, assumptions, and scenario outputs.
Ensure solution robustness, scalability, explainability, and business usability.
Drive data quality assessments and model validation processes.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary client-facing delivery lead.
Engage with CXOs, Supply Chain Heads, Operations Leaders, Finance Teams, and Consulting Partners.
Facilitate workshops, steering committee meetings, model reviews, and executive presentations.
Communicate recommendations, trade-offs, risks, and implementation plans effectively.
Build long-term client relationships and identify additional value-creation opportunities.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
Lead multidisciplinary teams including:
Data Scientists
Operations Research Specialists
Supply Chain Consultants
Data Engineers
BI Developers
Mentor team members and support their professional growth.
Establish delivery standards, best practices, and reusable solution frameworks.
Contribute to hiring, capability development, performance management, and knowledge sharing initiatives.
Governance, Documentation & Delivery Excellence
Define and enforce data governance, validation, and quality assurance processes.
Ensure proper documentation of:
Data dictionaries
Business rules
Model assumptions
Runbooks
Scenario logs
User guides
Handover documentation
Promote version control and reusable delivery assets across projects.
Required QualificationsEducation
MBA / PGDM from a reputed institute with specialization in Operations, Supply Chain, Analytics, or Strategy preferred.
B.Tech / M.Tech / MS in Engineering, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
Experience Requirements
10–14 years of experience in analytics, supply chain consulting, optimization, operations research, or decision intelligence.
Minimum 5+ years managing client-facing consulting or analytics projects.
Experience leading enterprise-level transformation, planning, or optimization initiatives.
Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
