As part of our growth and transformation strategy, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager to lead and enhance our Shared Services functions, driving commercial, contractual, legal, HR, and operational excellence across the business.
While this is a full-time position, we will consider a 4-day workweek for the right candidate.
The Role: A Strategic Leadership Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Director/Executive Manager, this role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless integration of Shared Services functions with Jonishan’s operations. You will provide strategic leadership and expert guidance across commercial management, contract administration, legal, HR, forecasting, and corporate planning, ensuring best-practice governance and compliance in all projects.
Your expertise will be instrumental in:
Ensuring projects are administered in strict accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements, particularly construction contracts.
Developing and executing transformation initiatives, streamlining processes to enhance commercial and operational efficiency.
Driving collaboration between senior teams to enhance financial, legal, and contractual decision-making.
Building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships, ensuring commercial success across all projects.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Commercial Leadership
Act as a trusted advisor to the Director and Executive Manager, providing commercial and operational insights.
Lead process transformation initiatives across contract management, legal, and HR
Work closely with the Financial Controller, Construction Manager, and Estimating Manager to monitor financial results and forecasting.
Oversee the preparation of capital business cases and financial evaluation models to support strategic growth.
Contract & Compliance Management
Take full ownership of contract management, from negotiation to execution.
Ensure tender documents and contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Review and negotiate major subcontractor and supplier agreements to optimise terms and pricing.
Set up contract administration systems and ensure regular reporting from project managers.
Working closely with Project team for project progress claims (variations & EOT), ensuring transparency and accuracy.
Collaborate with the Financial Controller to manage bank guarantees, bonds, insurances, and cash flow.
Operational & Corporate Governance
Chair and coordinate company management meetings.
Work closely with the HSEQ Manager to ensure the Integrated Management System (IMS) remains compliant and up to date.
Identify and proactively mitigate key operational risks.
What You’ll Bring
Tertiary qualifications in Construction, Engineering, Business, or Law.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior role within the construction industry.
Strong experience in contract negotiation, commercial management, and operational leadership.
A proven track record in staff management, development, and leadership.
Ability to build strategic relationships and foster collaboration across multiple departments.
Exceptional problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
A growth mindset with the ambition to evolve as Jonishan continues to expand.
