Provide comprehensive high-level administrative support services in the management of legal administrative processes and contribute to the efficient operation of the Legal Services team with a particular focus on complex information requests from a wide range of stakeholders, civil claims and applications under the National Redress Scheme. The role includes assisting with the management and release of Departmental information under the Personal Information Protection Act 2004 (PIP Act), and other relevant requests and applications including under the Registration to work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 (RWVP Act), from courts and tribunals, Tasmania Police, Child Safety, and the Coroners Court.
This is a Department built entirely for children and young people and their communities. Our ultimate goal is to work together to ensure that every child and young person in Tasmania is known, safe, well and learning.

The child is at the centre of everything we do and the way we do it.

Duties

Provide comprehensive high-level administrative support services in the management of legal administrative processes and contribute to the efficient operation of the Legal Services team with a particular focus on complex information requests from a wide range of stakeholders, civil claims and applications under the National Redress Scheme.
The role includes assisting with the management and release of Departmental information under the Personal Information Protection Act 2004 (PIP Act), and other relevant requests and applications including under the Registration to work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 (RWVP Act), from courts and tribunals, Tasmania Police, Child Safety, and the Coroners Court.

Period of Appointment

ASAP until 16 August 2027

Applicants should be aware that for twelve (12) months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill any subsequent permanent or fixed-term, full-time or part-time vacancies.

Hours per fortnight

73.5 hours per fortnight

Essential Requirements

The Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Act 2013 requires persons undertaking work in a regulated activity to be registered. A regulated activity is a child related service or activity defined in the Registration to Work with Vulnerable People Regulations 2014. This registration must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of this may be checked at any time during employment.

Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (Registration Status - Employment).

Experience in Legal Administration
