Reporting to the Head of Product Development, the Senior Garment Technician will lead the technical development and fit process across assigned product categories, ensuring every garment meets **** Lucy's standards for fit, quality, construction, and consistency.
Working closely with Design, Product Development, Production, and our offshore supplier partners, you will bring technical expertise, commercial thinking, and a solutions-focused approach to every stage of the development process.
What You'll Be Doing
Product Development & Technical Excellence
Lead the technical development process from design handover through to bulk production approval.
Interpret design concepts and translate them into commercially successful products while maintaining the integrity of the **** Lucy aesthetic.
Develop and maintain technical specifications, grading standards, measurement charts, and construction guidelines.
Review samples and provide clear technical feedback to suppliers on fit, construction, workmanship, and finishing.
Fit & Quality Management
Conduct fit sessions and drive fit approvals across assigned product categories.
Evaluate prototypes, SMS, pre-production, and shipment samples to ensure consistency and quality.
Troubleshoot fit, grading, patternmaking, and construction issues in partnership with suppliers and internal teams.
Maintain category fit standards and block libraries.
Supplier Collaboration
Build strong working relationships with offshore suppliers and manufacturing partners.
Provide technical guidance to support quality outcomes and efficient production.
Ensure supplier adherence to brand standards and critical path timelines.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve development efficiencies and reduce sample iterations.
Contribute to the ongoing refinement of fit standards, technical processes, and best-practice documentation.
Support initiatives that enhance product quality, consistency, and speed to market.
About You
You'll bring extensive garment technology experience, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for creating premium product.
Essential
8+ years' experience in Garment Technology, Technical Design, or Product Development.
Strong technical expertise across womenswear categories, including wovens and knits.
Advanced knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, grading, and fit.
Experience conducting fit sessions and communicating directly with offshore suppliers.
Strong technical specification and measurement skills.
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PLM/PDM systems.
Desirable
Qualification in Fashion Technology, Patternmaking, Apparel Production, or a related field.
Experience working with offshore suppliers across Asia.
Previous experience within contemporary fashion or lifestyle brands.
Knowledge of garment testing, quality assurance, and compliance standards.
