Primary Responsibilities
• Serve projects as the Subject Matter Expert (SME), and/or Solution Owner for web development applications and identify the skillsets needed to complete the work within a given area
• Design solutions based on company and client defined requirements and acceptance criteria within your focus area
• Drive efficient solution development by direct participation in and oversight of component development by lower tier teammates
• Coordinate and oversee testing of all deliverable components
• Ensure on time delivery by managing internal team development efforts and promptly raising awareness of potential issues or delays
Additional Responsibilities
• Full-Stack and Cloud Application Development
• Build web applications with modern technologies, including JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Ant Design, and TailwindCSS
• Build web servers with modern technologies, including TypeScript (Express, Prisma, Apollo, Nexus, KeystoneJS), Python (Flask, FastAPI), and GraphQL
• Design consistent data models and work with relational databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server
• Deploy containerized applications to various architectures, like Virtual Machines, Azure App Services, and Kubernetes, using Docker
• Lead the design and architecture of distributed systems and other software projects, utilizing technologies like Azure, AWS, and Kubernetes
• Quickly get up to speed and understand legacy applications in order to make improvements or bug fixes
• Ownership & Accountability
• Own the software development lifecycle for projects to ensure end-to-end quality
• Be accountable for projects and solutions you own
• Client & Stakeholder Interaction
• Lead meetings with clients to gather requirements and deliver updates of development progress
• Own relationships with stakeholders
• Aid in reporting and diagnosing user-reported defects
• Code Quality and Collaboration
• Use industry standard source control and issue tracking technologies (Git, Bitbucket, Jira)
• Review code written by other developers and provide feedback
• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
• Document process and design decisions to share knowledge and raise awareness among developers, using tools like Confluence
• Document source code to reduce mental load on developers and code reviewers
• Collaborate with other senior developers in leading mentorship and knowledge sharing efforts
• Mentor junior developers on standards and best practices
• Continuous Improvement
• Keep our technologies and processes up to modern standards
• Explore and evaluate new technologies and industry trends
• Learn new areas of engineering and technology to contribute to multi-disciplinary solutions.
• This position is on-site at our Cincinnati Corporate Office.
Qualifications

• Proficient with frontend and backend web development
• Proficient with Linux operating system
• Proficient with client/server integration
• Comfortable learning and using new and modern web frameworks, libraries, and tools
• Able to work cross-functionally and collaborate within multi-departmental team
• Organized and methodical with attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly
• Strong technical writing and oral communication skills required
• Demonstrate self-sufficiency, self motivation, independent worker
• Possess professionalism required to work directly with clients and internal and external teams
• Computer science, computer engineering, or information technology
• 5+ years web development experience
• This position is on-site at our corporate office in Cincinnati.
