Role Overview
In this role, you will blend web application development with emerging AI skills such as LLMs, GenAI, and prompt engineering. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams—product managers, data scientists, and designers—to build efficient web services and experiment with cutting-edge AI solutions. Key Responsibilities
Web Application Development
• Build and maintain Python-based web services using frameworks like Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
• Ensure seamless API integration with front-end components (React, Vue, or similar).
• Write clean, maintainable code with an emphasis on clarity and performance.
AI & Emerging Technologies
• Collaborate with the data science team to integrate AI features (LLMs, GenAI) into the platform.
• Contribute to prompt engineering efforts and experiment with agentic flows (coordinating multiple AI “agents” or “crews”) at a foundational level.
• Maintain a curious, learning-focused mindset to adapt to rapidly evolving AI technologies.
Systems & Critical Thinking
• Apply systems thinking when designing features to ensure stability, scalability, and efficiency.
• Use critical thinking to identify potential pitfalls or opportunities for optimization in both web and AI components.
• Communicate ideas effectively, using clear articulation skills to align stakeholders.
Collaboration & Mentoring
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate user stories into technical tasks.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, focusing on best practices and problem-solving strategies.
• Participate in peer reviews, sharing constructive feedback to uplift team productivity and code quality.
Continuous Improvement
• Stay updated on new Python frameworks, AI libraries, and best practices.
• Promote a culture of learning and adaptability, bringing new ideas to the team for experimentation.
• Help refine internal processes (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, documentation) to enhance overall efficiency.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s a plus, but not mandatory).
Total Experience
4–6 years of professional software development (with at least 2 years in Python).
Python & Web Frameworks
• 2+ years of experience building back-end services using Flask, FastAPI, or Django.
• Familiarity with designing and consuming RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints.
AI & Machine Learning (Desirable, Not Mandatory)
• Exposure to ML or AI projects (e.g., basic NLP, chatbots, or data-driven applications).
• Willingness to learn about LLMs, GenAI, and prompt engineering—practical experience is a bonus but not strictly required.
• Interest in exploring agentic flows and coordinating multiple AI services.
Soft Skills & Thinking Abilities
• Critical Thinking: Able to evaluate diverse solutions and foresee potential challenges.
