Senior Engineer - Supplier Quality
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCUTRE

LOCATION: Coimbatore, India
DIRECT REPORTING: Sr. Manager – Supplier Quality & Development
FUNCTIONAL REPORTING: Sr. Manager – Supplier Quality & Development
POSITION DETAILS
Position Summary
To develop and manage supply base for various commodities (Machining, FHRP, Forgings, Actuators & Electronics ) , supplier selection risk assessments, drive sample part development projects, manage supplier performance – Quality & Delivery, drive supplier improvement programs, support sourcing projects globally.
Principal Activities
• Manage supplier quality & performance improvement activities per CIRCOR & ISO standard processes
• Support Souring function with the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety and Business risks.
• Support New Product launch, Supplier transitions & Engineering change management processes.
• Drive sample developments process with SQE team and ensure suppliers are held accountable for meeting customer, drawing and specification requirements – First Article & Production Approvals.
• Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply
• Monitor, communicate and improve key sourcing / SCM KPI’s, including Supplier NC, OTD, DPPM and Improvements
• Work with Sourcing function to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented
• Review and evaluate supplier quality & performance data to identify process improvement opportunities
• Maintain and update critical supplier audit system and schedule, Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement
• Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non‐conformances
• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non‐conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems
• Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities
• Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects in an effort to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting CIRCOR requirements. Projects may include process analysis, value stream mapping, process capability and throughput analysis, 6‐Sigma, 5S and Kaizen events
• Drive “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base
• Train suppliers on best practices, CIRCOR training module like problem solving and Quality Clinic System
• Work with internal customers (Business Units) – Quality, Engineering and Supply chain team to support sourcing transition projects and drive supplier improvement
• Establish a strong network and foster collaboration with suppliers, key stakeholders, sites and category team members.
• Manage and develop a high performing Supplier Quality team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
• Motivate and coach the team to operational success and report on achievement of targets and if identify any actions required.
• Actively manage suppliers to ensure there are no regressions with the implementation of new processes
• Key metrics include: First Article Approvals, Supplier Quality – DPPM, Supplier OTD (project and production), Supplier performance metrics improvements, and support sourcing team metrics and projects.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
• Good communication skills with ability to manage suppliers and CIRCOR team globally
• Strong Problem solving skill set and good analytical skill to drive continuous improvements
• Good project management skill to manage and support sourcing transition projects
• Good in multi-task management & people management
• ISO QMS 9001/18000/45000 exposure, PED, Six sigma green/black certification / Knowledge, Lean practitioner certification/ knowledge & exposure on international standards like ASTM, ASME, AMS, MIL etc.,
Education & Experience
Diploma / bachelor’s in engineering (BE) – Mechanical / Production / Industrial with (5 to * yrs for BE / 7 to 12 yrs for Diploma) experience in supplier quality, supplier development - strategic sourcing function.
