As a Senior Counsel, you will play a crucial role within BMO's legal support team focussing on derivatives. Your key tasks include drafting, negotiating, and reviewing documents for various investment products like BMO ETFs and Mutual Funds. You will also stay updated on regulatory changes while fostering connections with internal and external parties.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as an expert on derivative laws and regulations
• Draft and negotiate all derivative-related documentation
• Advise on regulatory compliance and risk management
• Build effective partnerships within the organization
• Manage external legal counsel as necessary
Requirements:
• Law degree (LLB/JD) with a license to practice in Canada
• Over 5 years of relevant experience in legal practice
• Robust analytical, communication, and drafting abilities
• Proven relationship management skills
• Familiarity with investment product regulations
