Position Title: Assistant Costing Manager
Department: Costing Department
Location: Vaishali Nagar, Tonk Road and Prahaladpura Jaipur
Salary Range: ₹50,000 - ₹70,000 per month (range may vary with experience and qualifications)
Job Description:
The Assistant Costing Manager will support the costing manager and is responsible for overseeing all costing activities within the organisation. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, excellent leadership abilities, and extensive experience in cost management within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring accurate cost allocation, optimizing cost control processes, ability to work collaboratively with various departments and contributing to the overall financial health of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cost Analysis and Control:
o Oversee the preparation and analysis of cost reports and financial statements.
o Conduct regular cost reviews and variance analysis to ensure cost efficiency.
o Implement cost control measures and recommend cost reduction strategies.
· Cost Accounting Management:
o Assist in developing and maintaining the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.
o Ensure accurate and timely recording of all production costs, including materials, labour, and overhead.
o Monitor and analyse cost variances and suggest corrective actions.
· Budgeting and Forecasting:
o Lead the budgeting process for the Costing Department.
o Prepare and present annual budget and financial forecasts and projections.
o Analyse and report on budget variances and assist in the development of cost control strategies.
· Inventory and Production Costing:
o Supervise the accurate allocation of costs to products and services.
o Ensure proper costing of inventory, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
o Collaborate with production and inventory management teams to maintain cost accuracy.
• Financial Reporting:
o Prepare detailed costing reports and present findings for management review.
o Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
o Assist in the preparation of financial statements and audits.
o Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and journal entries related to cost accounting.
· Leadership and Team Management:
o Lead, mentor, and develop the Costing Department team.
o Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
o Coordinate with other departments to support organizational goals.
· Strategic Planning:
o Contribute to the development of long-term financial strategies.
o Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvements to streamline cost accounting procedures.
o Support decision-making with insightful financial analysis and recommendations.
· Collaboration and Support:
o Work closely with the production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure accurate cost data.
o Provide support and training to staff on cost-related matters and systems.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Master’s Degree or Professional certification (e.g., CA,CMA, CPA) is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in cost accounting or financial management, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a manufacturing environment.
Skills:
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
· Proficiency in cost accounting software and ERP systems.
· Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and financial analysis tools/SAP
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
· Office-based role with occasional need to visit production sites
Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines.
