You will play an important role in driving compliance policies and processes relating to product development, privacy, and data protection.ResponsibilitiesProvide guidance to executives, engineers and product managers on issues related to new and existing services, products, and features throughout the entire product lifecycleServe as a resident expert and resource on issues related to SaaS product lifecycle and data protection as these topics relate to Salesforces products and servicesWork successfully with other team members in Legal and Finance (and secure necessary approvals, as needed) during review of new and existing products and negotiation of agreements.Review and negotiate complex agreements with service providers and technology partnersProvide strategic and timely client training on relevant issues and processesBuild cross-functional relationships with business teams as well as other internal stakeholdersPartner with product teams to develop industry-leading privacy compliance tools for Salesforce customersRequired Skills/Experience10 years combined experience in law firm and/or in-house legal department, including experience negotiating and drafting technology agreementsFamiliar with key regulatory requirements for SaaS products, including global privacy compliance, intellectual property, data protection, and AI issuesSound and practical business judgmentExcellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skillsHighly responsive with a service-oriented attitudeAbility to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to organize, prioritize, and manage a high-volume workload in a fast-based and demanding work environmentAbility to maintain strong working relationships with demanding internal clientsCollaborative team player combined with ability to work independentlySense of humorDesired Skills/ExperienceIn-house experience at a technology company, with significant transactional and product counseling experiencePrevious experience working directly with product and engineering organizations to support product development and initiativesExperience with Slack as a primary communication toolCertified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)Substantive expertise in laws governing products in the SaaS sector (e.g., EU AI Act, Colorado AI Act, TCPA, CAN-SPAM Act, GDPR, CPRA)Well-grounded knowledge of intellectual property lawAccommodationsIf you require assistance due to a disability applying for open positions please submit a request via this Accommodations Request Form.Posting StatementSalesforce is an equal opportunity employer and maintains a policy of non-discrimination with all employees and applicants for employment.
