Job Description: Senior Content Editor – Politics, International Affairs & Geopolitics
The ideal candidate should be equally comfortable handling breaking developments, writing in-depth feature articles, and creating insightful explainers that help readers understand the significance of global events.
Key Responsibilities
• Cover and analyse political, diplomatic and international developments with a strong focus on geopolitics.
• Write high-quality news stories, feature articles, explainers and analytical pieces on current affairs.
• Identify emerging global trends and assess their relevance for Indian readers and competitive exam aspirants.
• Develop engaging, research-backed content that is accurate, balanced and easy to understand.
• Work closely with the editorial team to plan and execute timely coverage of major national and international developments.
• Ensure editorial accuracy, factual integrity and adherence to newsroom standards.
• Mentor junior team members, provide editorial guidance and contribute to content planning and quality initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Political Science, International Relations or a related discipline.
• 4–5 years of editorial experience in a reputed digital newsroom (mandatory).
• Proven experience covering political and international news.
• Strong understanding of global affairs, diplomacy, foreign policy and contemporary geopolitical developments.
• Demonstrated ability to write compelling feature articles, explainers and analytical content.
• Excellent research, communication and editorial skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced digital publishing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with the current affairs requirements of competitive examinations such as UPSC, SSC and other government recruitment exams will be an added advantage, though not mandatory.
• Understanding of digital publishing best practices, SEO and audience engagement is desirable.
