As a Senior Database Administrator, you’ll need to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and make the best decisions in the moment and in the long-term for the company. You will work in a team environment to provide knowledge of AWS Aurora, PostgreSQL, logical/physical database design, and support including performance tuning, diagnose problem and issues. You will be responsible for database migrations, performance monitoring, managing data replication, diagnosing system problems, disaster recovery testing and maintaining user accessibility. In addition, you will act as a lead technical resource for our IT application teams.
What You'll Bring:
Provide expertise to DBAs to address a specific issues or a project
Solve complex production issues to closure
Upgrade databases to the latest version
Migrate and convert Oracle databases to PostgreSQL
Migrate on-prem Oracle databases to AWS Aurora
Implement database encryption
Create replication between databases, whether on-prem or in a cloud environment
Apply database patchsets as required by Infosecurity requirements
Assist application teams in deployments and release work
Serves as a strong technical resource and work independently to Systems management, project managers, etc.
Impact You'll Make:
Thorough knowledge of PostgreSQL including HA, failover, db maintenance, backup and recovery
Understanding of advanced physical database design concepts like database partitioning, denormalization, memory tuning, and index optimization.
Strong knowledge of at least one scripting language
Excellent knowledge of SQL, Triggers, Stored Procedures
Knowledge and experience with DynamoDB, RedShift, Snowflake is a plus
Good communication skills and must work well in a team environment
Required to provide 24x7 production support on a rotation schedule
