Your Role
As The Senior Cabinet Officer You Will
Provide policy and procedural advice to departmental officers, senior officers and Ministerial staff on a diverse range of executive government, legislative development and policy coordination matters.
Provide critical analysis and quality assurance of briefs, reports and reviews relating to a variety of executive government, cabinet and legislative issues impacting on the department and portfolio agencies.
The Senior Cabinet Officer reports to the Assistant Cabinet Legislation and Liaison Officer (CLLO), Ministerial and Executive Services, Office of the Director-General.
Responsibilities Include
Provide high level specialist support and advisory services in relation to Cabinet, Cabinet sub-committees, Executive Council, Parliamentary Committee(s) and other government business.
Coordinate and critically examine Cabinet briefing materials (including Discussion Papers), Policy Submissions, Significant Appointment material, Executive Council Minutes and other documentation for the Minister and Director-General.
Review and facilitate consultation of Cabinet and Executive Council documents to ensure successful progression through to the Director-General and Minister, and through associated processes (e.g. Cabinet and Executive Council).
Coordinate activities associated with the weekly Cabinet submission review and briefing and Executive Council material; the Minister's Cabinet and Executive Council forward timetables; the legislation program; Cabinet/Cabinet Budget Review Committee decision implementation reporting and whole of Government and departmental reporting processes associated with executive documents.
