The Role:

As a Senior Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for the microscopic analysis of bulk asbestos samples in accordance with HSG248 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards. You will support the Laboratory Manager with quality assurance, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring the lab operates efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct bulk sample analysis and fibre identification in line with the P401 qualification.
• Ensure all results are recorded accurately and reported promptly.
• Maintain high standards of quality control and contribute to UKAS compliance.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior analysts and technicians.
• Support the Laboratory Manager in audits and day-to-day operations.

Requirements

Requirements:
• BOHS P401 qualification (Essential)
• Minimum 2 years' experience analysing bulk asbestos samples
• Strong knowledge of HSG248 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines
• Experience in a UKAS-accredited laboratory (preferred)
• Strong team player with a proactive approach to problem solving
