The Opportunity
A4I Lab is seeking an experienced Senior AI Designer to help conceptualize, design, and scale agentic AI systems that drive meaningful public and social impact. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong system-thinking, AI workflow design expertise, and hands-on technical capability to create intelligent experiences suited for real-world environments such as multilingual ecosystems, constrained infrastructure, and diverse stakeholder needs.
You will shape production-ready AI solutions, multi-agent workflows, and human-centered AI experiences across sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and accessibility. The role offers the opportunity to influence AI solution design from ideation through deployment while helping create scalable and reusable Digital Public Goods.
What You Will Be Doing
Design Intelligent Agentic AI Experiences
Design end-to-end agentic AI workflows and interaction systems that move from concept to production, with strong emphasis on usability, reliability, scalability, and real-world applicability. You will translate complex social-impact challenges into intuitive AI-powered systems that work effectively across multilingual and low-resource settings.
Create AI-Driven Multi-Modal Systems
Shape AI experiences that integrate LLMs, retrieval systems, structured and unstructured data, and multi-modal inputs such as speech, documents, and vision. You will contribute to the design of RAG pipelines, conversational flows, knowledge systems, and AI interaction patterns that improve user outcomes and operational effectiveness.
Drive Scalable AI Platform Design
Help establish design and engineering standards for AI platforms, deployment workflows, monitoring practices, and safe rollout strategies across cloud-based systems. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure AI solutions are scalable, maintainable, and production-ready.
Collaborate Across Cross-Functional Teams
Work closely with engineers, researchers, product teams, and external stakeholders to guide AI solution design and implementation decisions. You will contribute to technical documentation, reusable frameworks, and open-source assets that strengthen A4I's Digital Public Goods ecosystem.
