The Water Services Authority - Taumata Arowai (the Authority) was established as a Crown Entity in 2021, following the outbreak of illness in the Havelock North community as a result of drinking contaminated water from the public water supply. The Authority oversees and regulates the safety and quality of drinking water, wastewater and stormwater services across New Zealand. We do this on behalf of consumers and communities throughout New Zealand, so they can have confidence in the safety and quality of their drinking water and the impact on their environment.

Our Senior Advisor, Systems Reporting will join a small team to support our oversight function and provide transparency about the performance of water services, including leading the delivery of the Drinking Water Regulation Report (DWRR).
The Senior Advisor Systems Reporting will:
Synthesise a diverse range of content, from technical information through to policy and regulatory material, into a public facing report that is read by a diverse range of audiences.
Engage with, analyse and advise on developments including policy and sectoral changes that have a bearing on the reporting function.
Build trusted relationships with key internal stakeholders to ensure the incorporation of relevant information.
Enhance the connection between insights, strategy development and public transparency

We are looking for someone who has:
Excellent written skills, highly experienced with a diverse range of content
Strong experience working with subject matter experts and communicating key findings clearly
Knowledge and/or experience with a regulatory environment or the water sector or related field.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships and deliver presentations confidently
