Our client is a fast-growing, diversified organization operating across multiple business verticals and international markets, with business operations across the GCC region.
As part of its continued growth and international expansion, our client is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant – GCC Operations to be based at their Kochi office and manage and coordinate accounting and finance operations across their GCC businesses.
The role will work closely with management and finance stakeholders across UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective financial controls, timely compliance, and smooth coordination of finance activities across GCC entities.
Position Summary
The Senior Accountant – GCC Operations will be responsible for managing and coordinating end-to-end accounting and finance activities across GCC operations while being based in Kochi.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in GCC accounting, financial reporting, VAT/tax compliance, audit coordination, reconciliations, cash-flow management, and multi-entity accounting.
Experience with UAE and KSA finance operations is particularly valuable, while exposure to other GCC markets will be an added advantage.
The candidate must be comfortable working with multiple entities, currencies, regulatory environments, and geographically distributed teams.
Key Responsibilities
GCC Accounting Operations
• Manage and coordinate accounting operations across GCC entities.
• Maintain accurate books of accounts and financial records for multiple entities.
• Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Review accounting entries, provisions, accruals, and adjustments.
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of accounts.
• Coordinate with local finance teams and stakeholders across GCC countries.
GCC Tax & Statutory Compliance
• Coordinate applicable VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax, and other statutory compliance across GCC jurisdictions.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of applicable tax returns and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with local tax consultants, accountants, and regulatory advisors.
• Maintain appropriate tax records and supporting documentation.
• Monitor changes in GCC accounting and taxation regulations and assess their impact on the business.
Financial Reporting & MIS
• Prepare periodic financial statements for GCC entities.
• Consolidate financial information across multiple entities where required.
• Prepare MIS reports and management dashboards.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, profitability, cash flow, and working capital.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Provide management with accurate and timely financial insights.
Cash Flow & Working Capital
• Monitor cash flow across GCC entities.
• Track receivables, payables, and outstanding balances.
• Coordinate payment planning and collection follow-ups.
• Monitor bank transactions and perform regular reconciliations.
• Support effective working-capital management across entities and currencies.
Audit & External Coordination
• Coordinate statutory, financial, tax, and internal audits across GCC entities.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, accountants, banks, and financial advisors.
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Ensure timely resolution of audit queries and observations.
• Maintain complete and audit-ready financial records.
Internal Controls & Process Excellence
• Establish and strengthen finance processes and internal controls across GCC operations.
• Identify financial risks, discrepancies, and control gaps.
• Standardize accounting and reporting processes across entities where practical.
• Develop and maintain finance-related SOPs.
• Identify opportunities for finance process improvement and automation.
Management Support
• Work closely with management on GCC financial and accounting matters.
• Provide financial insights to support business and investment decisions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and profitability analysis.
• Evaluate the financial implications of new business initiatives and market expansion.
• Support the establishment of finance processes for new GCC entities or operations.
Cross-Border & Multi-Entity Coordination
• Coordinate finance activities between the Kochi office and GCC entities.
• Manage financial information across multiple currencies and jurisdictions.
• Ensure timely flow of information between local teams, management, auditors, and consultants.
• Support intercompany reconciliations and transactions.
• Maintain consistency and accuracy in financial reporting across entities.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CA / CMA / M.Com / MBA Finance is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Strong practical knowledge of GCC accounting and compliance requirements.
Experience
• 10+ years of experience in accounting and finance.
• Strong experience in GCC accounting and finance operations.
• Experience managing accounting operations across multiple entities is preferred.
• Strong exposure to UAE and/or KSA accounting, VAT, taxation, and statutory compliance.
• Experience with other GCC markets such as Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait is an advantage.
• Experience coordinating with GCC-based auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory advisors.
• Experience working across multiple business verticals and international markets is preferred.
