Gitxsan Safety Services (GSS), an award-winning, COR certified provider of security, emergency medical and traffic control services. We are a proudly First Nations business, providing training to direct employment opportunities, offering high quality safety services to numerous private and public sector businesses throughout western Canada.
Wages: starting at $20/hour; following BC Employment Standards Act all overtime is paid at time and half or double time in accordance with the Act.
Hours of work: usually 12 hours per day, contracts vary and days within deployments may have variability. Deployments are up to 21 days and can be extended if there are standby days and the employee agrees.

What would you do:
Every contract is different so deployment instructions are provided. In general the Security Guard responsibility is to observe, report, and deter.
Observe and report suspicious activity
Document within SiteDocs
Respond to incident/emergency situations and follow protocol
Provide perimeter security coverage
Secure all exits, doors, and windows
Patrolling of designated areas, equipment, etc.
Accept and track radio check ins
Respond to alarms
Provide a visual security presence - deterring unauthorized persons
Provide escorts to vehicles & accommodations when needed.
Coordinating and liaising with the police or emergency personnel when
