Role Description
We are looking for a highly creative and detail-oriented Script writer & Storyboard Artist to lead the visual storytelling and creative direction for our animated content. This role combines creative leadership with hands-on storyboard development, helping create scripts and ideas and transform them into engaging visual narratives for children’s animation.
The ideal candidate should have strong storytelling instincts, excellent composition skills, and the ability to maintain consistency in style, pacing, and emotional tone across episodes and short-form content.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and oversee the overall creative vision and visual direction of animated projects.
• Create detailed scripts, storyboards from concepts and song lyrics.
• Plan scene composition, camera angles, character acting, transitions, and visual pacing.
• Work closely with animators, editors, and music teams to ensure storytelling clarity and engagement.
• Define and maintain consistency in character expressions, environments, colors, and animation style.
• Provide creative feedback and revisions during pre-production and production stages.
• Create animatics or storyboard sequences for timing and flow when required.
• Ensure content is engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with the target audience.
• Research trends in children’s animation and digital content to improve storytelling and viewer retention.
• Collaborate with the production team to optimise workflow efficiency and production quality.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Strong portfolio showcasing scriptwriting, storyboard work and visual storytelling.
• Excellent understanding of cinematic language, shot composition, pacing, and continuity.
• Ability to translate scripts into clear and engaging visual sequences.
• Experience working on animated content, children’s media, or digital entertainment.
• Understanding of audience retention and hook strategies for short-form and long-form content.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in storyboard and design software such as:
• Storyboard Pro
• Photoshop
• Blender Grease Pencil (optional)
• Illustrator
• Canva or similar tools (optional)
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in children’s YouTube animation content or nursery rhyme productions.
• Knowledge of animation pipelines and production workflows.
• Experience directing animators and visual teams
