Job Description
Company Overview:
Toronto Metal Traders is a growing scrap metal recycling company working primarily with new car dealerships across the GTA.
About the Role:
This hands-on position combines driving, physical work, organization, and customer interaction.
Duties:
Drive a company cargo van to service scheduled client locations.
Collect automotive scrap metal such as brake rotors, rims, batteries, etc.
Load and unload scrap metal from the cargo van.
Manually lift and handle materials (some items can weigh 35 lbs or more).
Segregate and organize different types of scrap metal materials.
Interact professionally with service managers and dealership staff.
Issue invoices and record transactions.
Follow a structured pickup route across the GTA.
Maintain organization of materials, paperwork, and inventory.
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
No criminal record
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations
Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks as needed
Good communication skills and professional demeanor
Ability to work independently and follow directions accurately
Reliable, punctual, and organized
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
Experience operating a hooklift truck or bin truck.
Experience driving a cargo van
Growth Opportunity:
This role offers the potential to operate a hooklift truck for bin deliveries, leading to increased responsibilities and pay
Compensation:
Annual salary of approximately $60,000
Average workday of 5 to 6 hours
First month will be a probation period, paid at $22 per hour
Compensation structure can be discussed based on experience
Open to subcontractor or employee arrangement
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
