Position Summary:
The Sandblaster is responsible for preparing metal parts for finishing by using abrasive blasting techniques to remove rust, scale, old coatings, and contaminants. This role is critical in ensuring high-quality finishes and requires strong attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
What You’ll Do:
Surface Preparation & Blasting
Set up and operate sandblasting equipment to prepare metal surfaces for powder coating and finishing
Select appropriate blasting media (aluminum oxide, glass beads, steel grit, etc.)
Maintain consistent blasting patterns to achieve proper surface profile
Quality Control
Inspect parts before and after blasting
Identify and report defects or inconsistencies
Collaborate closely with the finishing team
Equipment Maintenance
Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance
Maintain clean and organized blasting areas
Dispose of blasting materials properly
Safety & Compliance
Follow all PPE and OSHA safety requirements
Monitor ventilation and dust collection systems
Maintain a safe, production-focused work environment
What We’re Looking For:
1+ years of sandblasting, industrial painting, or related experience preferred
Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently in a production environment
Team-oriented mindset
High school diploma or GED preferred
On-the-job training available for candidates with strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Stand for extended periods
Comfortable working in enclosed blasting booth with full PPE
Exposure to dust, noise, and abrasive materials
