Position: Road Freight / Customs Co-ordinator
Location: Manchester - Denton
Hours: Monday - Friday, +am - 17:30 (approx)
Salary: Up to 30,000 (DOE)
We are recruiting for one of the largest privately owned international freight forwarding companies that operates from nine locations in the UK.
We are seeking an experienced Customs coordinator who has Road Freight operations knowledge to join their expanding team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing road freight operations and being strong with customs entries and declarations for EU road freight.
Your key responsibilities as a Road Freight / Customs Co-ordinator:
• Liaising with customers / hauliers to arrange transport / bookings
• Organise and coordinate end to end European road freight operations
• Key account assistance - taking on house accounts to develop and retain
• Road pricing - this includes LTL, FTL, EU Cross Trades, OOG shipments
• Track and update delivery statutes in the company's system and provide regular updates to clients
• Preparing customs entries on imports and exports ensuring a high level of accuracy and full compliance
• Making sure the department stays up to date with regulations, ensuring compliance with all documentation
• Processing supporting documents such as T1's, COO, EUR1 on ICERT
• Processing refunds via HMRC
• Full training via our booking system
• Deliver exceptional customer service
Requirements
• Proven experience in European road freight operations
• Sound understanding of CNS / Destin8
• Experience of CDS essential to this role
• Good trade tariff knowledge
• A strong understanding of transportation and operation regulations
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• The ability to problem solve and work effectively in a fast-paced environment and working to tight deadlines
• Proficiency in relevant software for transportation management.
